Why Staying Small Is the Next Big Thing with Paul Jarvis

Paul Jarvis: For me, it’s always, I want a business that supports my life, not a life that supports my business. So I don’t want to Elon Musk things and work eighty hours a week and sleep on a couch in my office. I want to work thirty-ish hours a week and enjoy the rest of my time. As long as I make enough money to cover that, put money into savings and all of that, I feel good. I don’t need to . . . Working awards ten times more than that wouldn’t serve me, wouldn’t serve my life in any way. I don’t think it would serve my customers, even. There are so many ways that you can promote a book, and we’ve talked about a number of those ways in past episodes of the SPI Podcast. We’ll include links to all those shows from the past that talk about book marketing on the […]

I always get excited at the end of each year, not only because Christmas is my favorite time of year (and my birthday happens to land in December), but because I get to reflect on the lessons learned and examine the numbers to see what’s been working, and what I can improve. We shouldn’t have to wait until the end of the year to reflect on these kinds of things, but we can’t help it because the calendar year neatly wraps up the past, and helps us imagine the future. So for today, I’m excited to dive into last month’s earnings and progress report, and how I’m setting myself up for success in 2017. Let’s get to it! Goings On in December As you may remember from my November Income Report, I went into December sick as a dog. It was a rough start to the month after getting food […]
