Traffic Sources Based On Experience

There are a ton of different traffic sources out there you can run your affiliate marketing campaigns on and one of the easiest things you can do is completely overwhelm yourself by trying to run campaigns at all of them at the same time. I think it’s really important that you choose a traffic source, test a spread of campaigns on that traffic source, optimize your campaigns, and then scale until you hit a ceiling. If you simply setup campaigns on a bunch of different traffic sources all at once you are going to spread yourself too thin. So, what traffic sources do I suggest focusing on based on your experience as an affiliate marketer? I’ve broken down your possible experience level into four different levels. Those levels are Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior. Here is an explanation of each level and one traffic source I suggest based on that level. Remember, […]

How to Direct Link PeerFly Offers on Facebook Ads

How to direct link PeerFly offers using Facebook Ads is probably one of the most common questions I get from publishers interested in running affiliate offers on Facebook. Facebook provides a great ad platform that can be very lucrative to affiliates, but it does require some work to get your campaigns up and approved. It’s not as easy as just putting your affiliate link on PropellerAds and waiting for the conversions to come in. If you do not run your ad campaigns properly on Facebook, you can get your ads account suspended pretty easily so it’s important that you know what you’re doing before you give it a try. There are two big steps you need to take to direct link PeerFly offers on Facebook Ads. Once you do these, you will have no trouble getting your campaigns approved, receiving traffic, and hopefully getting conversions! Add a Custom Tracking Domain […]

The Year of Online Courses (The Results. The Good. The Not so Good.)

One of my 2017 goals was to create and launch powerful online courses. Learn what went well, what could be improved, and what my plans are for 2018. Pat Flynn December 18, 2017 Last year, when I was setting goals for 2017, I knew that a primary strategy for my business was going to be creating and launching effective and in-depth online courses for the SPI audience. One of the motivating factors for this was to significantly transform the way I generate income. You see, for the past eight or so years of running Smart Passive Income, I’ve generated the majority of my income from affiliate marketing. I wanted to change that in 2017. I needed to add some nuance and diversity into my income portfolio. I needed to add different, and significant, pockets of value. Now, I still think affiliate marketing is a fantastic way to generate income, and […]

My June 2017 Monthly Income Report

Welcome to my June 2017 Monthly Income Report! I’ve got a great one for you this month, as it includes earnings from my recent Smart From Scratch online course launch. But, as always, let me first share what these income reports are all about, for those who may be new. In October 2008, after generating an income online for the first time from my architecture-related business, I decided to share openly how much money I was making, and exactly how it all happened. Since then, I’ve been posting these reports monthly, which you can find here on my income report page. I do this not only to keep track and inspire others, but also as a way to teach lessons along the way. I’ll tell you this, though: I don’t know everything there is to know about online business. I’m always learning, but whether my income goes up, or it […]

Amanda’s follow up is now about how to get that traffic you’re looking for with Facebook Ads—the hot thing that everyone wants to use now, but so few know how to use correctly. Pat Flynn May 15, 2017 We’ve been going full steam this month with a load of paid advertising related content, both here on the blog and on the podcast. Before we keep going, however, it’s important that we pull back a little and ask ourselves this question: What are we driving traffic to anyway? A product? A promotion? No. A funnel. We MUST know what our goals are related to the traffic we pay for, or else—and I can say this from experience—you’ll quickly lose money and opportunity. So today, I’m happy to re-introduce Greg Hickman. He’s been on the podcast before way back in Smart Passive Income Podcast Session #65, where he talked about marketing strategies related to mobile, such as SMS and […]

How to Start with Paid Advertising

I’ve never run a paid advertisement for my own products. Why? Well, simply because I’ve never had any products of my own to sell. One of my goals for 2017 is to shift the higher percentage of income coming from affiliate marketing (selling the products of others for a commission) to earnings generated from my own stuff. The primary driver for that shift will be my online courses. I’ve launched a couple of online courses this year already, and with the reopening of those courses over the span of the next few months, it’s about time I finally add some fuel to the furnace and pay for advertisements, something many successful entrepreneurs say they wish they had done sooner. I’ve run ads for non-product things before, such as boosted posts on Facebook, or ads to increase the number of fans on my business page, but I’ve never run ads as […]

There are a few key takeaways from this data: You do not have to have a big ad budget to begin your testing. I have my daily budget set at $3 for this ad campaign. Every day, my cost per Like is decreasing because Facebook is optimizing who they show my ad to based on the data they’re collecting on who is responding well to my ad (Liking my Page). I was able to successfully reach $0.03 per Like in just 3 days with the […]

5 Affiliate Traffic Sources to Test in 2017

The Internet landscape is constantly evolving which means the best sources of traffic for affiliates is constantly changing too. Where can affiliates find good traffic in 2017? There are 5 specific traffic sources that I recommend affiliates test this year. These are all sources I have been running traffic with for the past few months and that I have had some success with. I will explain what types of affiliate offers I’ve been running and how affiliate friendly each source is. Let’s start with Bing Ads. Favorite Search Traffic Source for Affiliate Marketers – Bing Ads Bing Ads is not a new traffic source for affiliates. Bing has been trying to compete with Google for years. I do not think there is any doubt which company offers a better overall search experience, but there are still millions of people using Bing every single day. One thing that Bing definitely has going […]
