A poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation, conducted March 25 to 30, found that 45 percent of adults say the pandemic has affected their mental health, and 19 percent say it has had a “major impact.” The statistics are dismal:  The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) estimates that issues related to employee mental health and substance abuse cost American employers between $80 billion and $100 billion per year.  As many as 20%t of U.S. adults will experience mental illness in their lifetimes, according to the NIMH, and 66 percent will never receive treatment. Talking to Robots With David Ewing Duncan

Geek out on this week’s episode of the ‘Capability Amplifier’ podcast. February 10, 2020 3 min read Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Listen here If you know me even a little bit, you know that I’m a total tech geek! I love learning about anything new in the world of emerging technology, AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning), VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality), IoT (internet of things) and anything else you can think of. The future possibilities are super exciting but at times … can also be scary as hell. Tech is a double-edged sword. It can be used for good, or evil, even though technology itself is neutral. (Well, except for Facebook. On the record, I think it’s evil and not to be trusted any further than the Chinese government. That’s a whole different story and rabbit hole we won’t dive into today.) I mean really belly laugh so hard that you cry and everything else in your life disappears? Do you ever get nostalgic for a simpler time when stand-up comedy (not smartphones and social media) was king and Johnny Carson was the biggest star on the planet like I do? I recently had the opportunity to interview one of the most recognizable and talented names from the heyday of 1980s comedy. And unlike most of the stars from that era, he’s still active, going strong and committed to massive self-growth. Smirnoff had humble beginnings as a poor immigrant to the United States who did not even know the language and went on to perform on The Tonight Show with Johnny […]

Presented by Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs…these are some of the largest personal brands in human history in terms of name recognition and global impact. Now think about your personal brand for a moment. Where would you be if you had to start over, with only the benefit of a strong personal brand, and the ability to influence and connect with a large number of people? As an example, Elon Musk has never paid for advertising or marketing. In his most recent Tesla Cybertruck launch, he booked over 200,000 preorders that, when fulfilled, represent over $10 billion in sales! (That’s assuming an average price per truck of $50,000).
